Aims & Objectives

At Parent and Child Fostering Service Ltd (PACFS), our aim is to provide safe, nurturing and effective fostering placements, with a specialist focus on Parent & Child fostering. We work with Local Authorities to support parents and their children to remain together safely, where this is assessed as appropriate, while providing a structured environment that promotes the welfare, safety and best interests of the child.

We achieve this by:

Providing safe, stable and nurturing family environments where children and young people are supported to feel valued, secure and able to thrive.

Keeping the welfare, safety, needs and best interests of children at the centre of our work, ensuring that decisions about placements and support are child-centred and responsive to assessed needs.

Carefully matching children and families with foster carers, taking account of individual needs, circumstances, wishes, identity, background and strengths to support safe, purposeful and stable placements.

Providing specialist Parent & Child fostering placements, where parents and their children can receive structured support, guidance and role modelling within a safe family environment, where this is assessed as appropriate.

Working in partnership with Local Authorities, foster carers, parents, children and other professionals from referral and matching through placement and review, ensuring that placements remain purposeful and responsive to assessed needs.

Recruiting, assessing, preparing and supporting a diverse range of foster carers, enabling PACFS to provide placements that reflect the varied needs of children, young people and families.

Supporting children and young people to access education, development and opportunities appropriate to their individual needs, helping them to make positive progress.

Promoting equality, diversity and inclusion, respecting and supporting each child’s identity, culture, religion, ethnicity, relationships and individual circumstances.

Encouraging children and young people to explore their interests, develop hobbies, and engage in social and recreational activities that support confidence and personal growth.

Promoting physical and emotional wellbeing, ensuring every child has access to appropriate healthcare and is supported to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Supporting meaningful relationships, enabling safe and appropriate contact with birth families and significant individuals wherever possible.

Providing ongoing training and professional support to foster carers, delivered by a skilled and experienced team of social workers.

Delivering a responsive, high-quality 24-hour support service, ensuring foster carers, children, and stakeholders always have access to guidance when needed.

Maintaining robust policies and procedures, upholding the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance.
